.Easter, when two games were played, and
the club was successful in turning the
tables by winning both matches. A
member of the club (Mr. S. Jackson) was
;the winner of the T.B.A. Single-Handed

duties. Mr. Rushfirth found it necessary
to resign the position of hon. secretary
owing to pressure of business. The resig
nation was received with great regret,
and a record placed on the minutes for
valuable services rendered. Mr. F. G.
Cox was elected to the position. Thanks
were due to the ladies who have helped
so willingly when called upon. The
committee impressed on mneubers the de
sirability of exhibiting a: keen intere.t in
the welfare of the club, and trusted that
with a plentiful supply of new members
it would in the coming' season surpass all
liresious records.
The chairman said he had much plea
sure in moving the adoption of the re
port and balance-sheet. The season haId
not been nerventful, and considering it
was a new club thie position was fairly
satisfactory, the generosity of members
having been of material asnsiiltance in for
wardiung its interests. Tihe president and
other members mesntioned in the report
mad done a great deal to assist the club,
while their thanlks were dlie to the mc?i
bers of the improvement committee for
their work in beautifying the green. (Ap
plause.) Great pra:ise was due to ther
for the time they had devoted to that
matter. Tie financial position was not
quite so good as they had hoped it would
be, and a proposal to increase the sub
spription from 30s to C' 2s would be
submitted, with a view of enabling them
to carry on.
iMr. F. A. Gaunt seconded the motion.
In the course of the discussion the

iThe associ'tion's desciion was final.
Mr. Doolan thought that snuch a mat

a letter from the secretary of the Tas
manian Bowling Association referring its
proposals as to ffliliation fees and the
entertainment of visitors.
Mr. PW.V. Archer said it seemed stransge
that two minor matters had becn refer
1,' to the clubs and not the major ques
fir. C. Oharreti exprcsmed surprise at
the fact that the Wednesday players had
been ignored in the pcnnant schemie. Wore
they not wanted as bowlers?
Tihe secretary-There will be \Vednes
day matches, but they will not count for
the pennant.
The matter, then dropped.
Affiliation Fees.
A discussion ensued on a reconmmenda
tion from the. Tasmanian Bowling Asso
elation that each city club should, in
auddition to its contribution to the asso
elation of £2 2s, pay a registration fee
of 2s in respect of each bowling member.
In the course of the debate objeetioii
was raised to levying such a charge upon
those who did not play in pennant
snatches. It was stated that the other
clubs would agree to the proposal.
Messrs. ltushfirth and Charrett held
that the club should support the T.BA.
the latter suggesting that the 2s fee ap
ply only to pennant members. Ho moved
that the club's delegates be instructed to
support otht view.
An amendment that the 3.B.A. scheme
be approved was lost, and Mr. Charratt's
proposition carried.
The following peeommendation from the
T.B.A. was approved:-That the club on
whose green a representative match was
being played should entertain the play
ers taking part in the match, except in
the event of a series of three games or
ono single game being played on any one
green, in which case such players should
'be entertained by the clubs conjointly.
Tennis Courts.
MTr. P. W: Archer raised the question
of having tennis courts. There was no
thing in the financial position to stop
them going in for them at once.
The matter was referred to the com
mittee.
Complimentary.
Votes of thanks to officers and the
chairman .closed a long meeting.
