in the true English tradition. '
For nearly 20 years he played
in touring revues.
Then he suddenly found his
name in West End lights, win
ning stardom in a revue which
incorporated many of the
sketches he had played for'
years all over England and In
Australia. From then he never
looked back.
In 1946 Field set up a record
by appearing before the King ?
and Queen twice in four' days:
