Woman Flees
From Intruder
A woman fled with her
three-year-old daughter to
the house of a neighbor
when an intruder tried to force
his way into her home at Ma
gill/ late on Tuesday night.
Mrs. Blanche Hayman, of
Alexander avenue, Magill, told
police that she was awakened by
a man trying to open the win
dow. Her husband was away
shearing in the South-East, and
she was alone hi the house with
her child.
She rushed from the bed and
secured the window, but the
man banged on the front door
and the window, calling to her
°She snatched' up the child and
ran to Mr. W- Buisfs house, in
Moules road.
Buist's son, who arrwea
home shortly afterwards, chased
a man on his motor cycle, but
went for the police when the
man threatened to ' do him.
PCC CMalley, who investi
gated, found a window broken
and blood on the path, suggest
ing that the man had suffered
a severe cut on the hand.
There was a man's handker
chief on the floor in the sit
tta- room, but no evidence of
anything having been taken.
The man was described to
nnlice as about 30 to 35, 6 ft. tall,
Sf very strong build, wearing a
dark sports coat and sports
trousers.
