Charge Sought For
Sunday Football
PORT AUGUSTA, April 13.
The Port Augusta oval man
agement committee will ask the
Chief Secretary (Mr. McEwin)
for permission to charge for
admission to the Sunday foot
ball matches at the Central
Oval this season.
Previously admission has been
by silver coin and, although in
terest in the sport has been
keen, the financial result has
been far from satisfactory.
In a letter read at the meet
ing of the totM council this
week the committee stated
that the Upkeep of the turf
oval for 12 months cost between
£600 and £700, but the revenue
was only £430.
The council informed the
committee that it had no objec
tion to an approach being made
to the Chief Secretary.
At Whyalia a charge is made
for admission to Sunday foot
ball matches.
