TENDERS. ;
THE COMMISSIONERS of the 'ADE
LAIDE and GAWLER TOWN RAILWAY are
prepared to receive TENDERS for tho SUPPLY of
TIMBER for the SLEEPEES for XIXE MILES of the
ibove Railway. *
The Timber to be of the best Hardwood suitable for
Railway Sleepers, perfectly sound, and free trom heart or
sap, anil to be subject to the approval of the Engineer,
whose decision as to acceptance or rejection must be
inaL
The Longitudinal Sleepers to be 12 inches by 6 inehes,
perfectly square, and free from vane edges, to average a
length of 22 feet, and no length less than 18 feet will bo
received; of these there will be -1,320 Pieces.
The Transoms to be 6 inehes by i inches, and 4 feet
10 inches long; of these there will be 5,274 Pieces.
Each Tender to be accompanied with ajspecitnen of the
wood proposed to be supplied. The whole to be delivered
in all 1855 under a penalty of £500 for non-performance
of the terms of the contract.
Two securities will be required for the due performance
ofthecoutract.
The Timber to be delivered on a wharf ai Port Ade
laide, and the price to be exclusive of Customs duty.
Tenders will be received at this office up to Monday
14th May next.

Peppermint, or Swan River Jarrah. Tho Rails to bo of
Stnngybark or White Box; or, in either case, other
Timber known to be suitable for the purpose. If sea
borne to be delivered at Port Adelaide duty unpaid ; or, if
by land carriage, upon any part of the line of Railway.
The dimensions to be as follows : —

Tenders will bo received for quantities not less than
1.O0O, or for any larger quantity, until tho last Monday
in May next, and to be delivered during all tho year
1855.
The contractor will have to enter into a bond, with
two sureties, for due performance. ' '

7 inches wide, aud 3 J thick. The rails 0 feet long, and
to average 0 inches wide, and 2i thick. The posts to bo
of hard rod gum, blue gum, white box, or Swan lliver
jarra. Tho rails to be of Stringybark or white box,
or in cither case of equally good wood. To bo delivered
within one mile of Salisbury upon the line of railway as
may be directed. Tenders will be received for quantities
not less than 500, until 12 o'clock on Tuesday, 17th inst.
The whole to be delivered within one month of the day
oftender.
