Hand Caught
In Rollers
NORTHAM, Wed.--Henry
Glode (12), the son of Mr.
R. Glode, baker, of Fitz
gerald-street, suffered a severe
ly crushed hand when it was
caught in the rollers of a
bread-moulding machine at his
father's bakery yesterday.
Apparently the boy was at
tempting to feed dough into
the machine when his hand
was drawn into the rollers.
The machine was stopped,
but an oxywelding machine
had to be used to cut away
the rollers to release the hand.
A doctor stood by during
the operation and it was be
lieved at one stage that it
might be necessary to ampu
tate the hand, but. the rollers
were released in time.
The boy is in hospital suf
fering from shock and a
badly-crushed hand.
