BID FOR S.A. SOCCER BOARD SEATS

For the first time for
many years, there is keen
competition for seats on

tive councfl. the controlling
body in SA.
This increased competition
on the administrative side of
the game indicates either
soccer's growing popularity or
that clubs feel new blood is
required on the council.
Although the closing date tor
nominations this year is not until
December 14. more than the re
quired six nominations have al
ready been received, and an elec
tion is certain:
ANOTHER OVAL
An application by the .soccer
council for the use of Kensington
Oval as the home ground for one
of the First Division teams has
been granted by Burnside Council.
Ten Saturdays will be allocated
during the 1954 season, Juventus.
Budapest, Beograd and vytis are
the First Division teams that have
not a recognised home ground.
It is confidently predicted that
last year's learne Premier.
Jave.ntus. will be chosen to Dla.v

Oval.
The way i-, not yet clear ror a
final agreement with Burnside
Council as this depends on the
ten dates on which the oval is
available.
Other ovals are also under
consideration by the soccer
council, and the one that meets
its requirements best is the one
that will be selected.
TWO TEAMS SECURE
The results of last Monday
night's summer series has made
the positions of Polonia and Vytis
secure for the final series of
matches.

serious dancer of being eliminated.
