LONDON, Oct. 29.
Cabinet will discuss the
whole subject of the atomic
bomb within the next few days,
says the "Daily Telegraph,"
which adds that Mr. Attlee
win make a statement soon on Bri
tish policy on the atomic bomb,
and the progress of atomic re
search in Britain.
The Russians are actively pur
suing atomic bomb research with
th> fl^s<sfa|Ty?y of German scien
tists, equipment and data, accord
ing to the acting director of the
Berlin Kaiser Wilhelm Institute
(Dr. Guenther Hillman\ wbo told
Associated Press of Great Britain
that the Russians would evolve
their own atomic bomb within two
years.
He n<irt* ]id that the Russians had
been offering German scientists,
including himself, lucrative salaries
to go to Russia to work on atomic
development. Many accepted, prin
cipally because the Americans for
bade all scientific research in their
rone.
