one-time flayer of Nazis and now the scourge of
Communists, fought Labor members of the House
of Lords last night. _ . .

himself against a censure motion
launched against him by Lord
Stainsgate (Lab.) following his rc.

Communists and fellow travellers.
"I'm going" to fight tooth and
nail as long as I can stand in this
House," said Lord Vansittart, who
was for years Permanent Secre-
tary of the Foreign Office.
Before Lord. Stainsgate's motton
was thrown out by combined
Labor and Conservative peers, the
Bishop of Bradford had added his
protests against Lord Vansittart**
charges.
|The charges involved the
bishop and others In "fellow tra«

Communists had infiltrated various
organisations including the church
and the S.B.C.]

was a small number of clergymen
in the Church of England and the

the church was not going to be
the first to suppress ir eco om 01
speech.
"I dissociate myself utterly
from ail pabilo utterances ef the
Dean et Csaterbary (Dr. Jean
