Globe Employee
Have Fire Drills
Employees of the Globe Proprietary
Ltd. take their A.R.P. seriously. Yes-
terday a fire drill was conducted and
everything went to a schedule. In
addition to being members of squads,
many of the men are also studying
first aid and other subjects in con-
nection with other outside duties.
"Everything has been prepared for
the protection of the employees. Each
man knows his task and what will be
required of him," Mr. F. W. Ablett,
superintendent of thc mill, said to-
day.
Employees of the Globe have been
formed into eight squads, each with
its own leaders. These men attend
lectures given by Mr. H. J. Stewart,
Technical Adviser on A.R.P. in the
city, and then lecture their squads.
At present the instruction has been
confined to how to deal with incen-
diary bombs and outbreaks of fire.
Trenches have been dug for em-
ployees.
Mr. Ablett said today that all the
men took their A.R.P. studies' seri-
ously. Many of them had a know-
ledge of first aid or were studying
it in their own time.
