Standard Attire
For Lifters
A specially-imported one
piece costume will be stan
dard attire of competitors in
comDetitinns ennriurtpri hv the KA
Amateur Weightlifters' Associa
tion.
This was decided at the annual
meeting of the association at
3DN auditorium this week.
It also was decided that, to be
eligible to compete, entrans must
make a total for three Olympic
lifts equal to the federation's
bronze award standard.
The association has instituted
an associate member system, en
titling such members to free ad
mission to championships but not
to compete in them.
The State championship will be
held at Freemasons' Hall, North
terrace on August 5.
Officers elected at the annual
meeting were: — Messrs. T. J. Wig
ley (president), H. Pascoe, F.
Twelftree and M. Kiepert (vice
presidents); B. Mobbs (secretary
treasurer); committeemen (in ad
dition to the foregoing), Messrs.
B. Sladden and R. Lokan.
A collection at the meeting
yielded £15 towards the expense
fund to assist K. McDonald
(NSW) and V Barberis (Vic.) to
compete in the world weightlifting
championships in Sweden in
August
