Soldier Found
Stabbed
A soldier who had re
cently returned from
Korea, John Ashton, 31,

was found wandering in East
terrace, city, last night, suf
fering from two stab wounds
in the back. .
lie was found by Frederick
James' Westwood, engineer,
of Martin avenue, Fitzroy,
who took him to the Royal
Adelaide Hospital, where he
was admitted.
Ashton, whose uniform
was saturated with blood,
refused to tell police who
had stabbed him.
He is believed to have been
attacked in an eastern sub
urb by someone who twice
drove a small knife into his
back, near the kidneys.
After the attack Ashton is
believed to have walked into
the city.
He is believed to have left
home last night to play cards
and it is thought that a
quarrel may have occurred
during which he was -at-
tacked.
