Limited Sales
Of Potatoes
Though the potato posi
tion has eased during the
past week, buyers at the
Central Market will still be
limited in their purchases
today, the president of the
Central Market Stallholders'
Association (Mr. D. W.
Chamberlain) said yesterday.
Veeetables.— Peas, 2/ lb.; cauli
flowers, 4/6 to 2/6 each; tomatoes,
1/6 to 1/9 lb.; glasshouse toma
toes, 2/ lb.; carrots, 9d. lb.; celery,
1/ to 1/3 stick; onions, 4d. lb.;
potatoes, 5d. lb.
Fruit. — Eating apples, 1/ to 1/6
lb.; cooking apples, lOd. to 1/ lb.;
bananas, 1/6 to 1/8 lb.; pineapples,
2/6 to 3/6 each.
Meat.— Lamb, forewiarter. 2/10;
chops, 4/4 lb.
Fish.— Whole fish, whiting. 4/6
lb ; snapper, 3/6 ib.; snook, 3/9
lb.; perch, 3/ lb.; garftsh, 3/6 lb.;
trout, 2/ lb. Fillets, garfish. 6/6
