STATION MAN
SHOT
PORT HEDLAND, Oct. 16:
Edward Farrell, stockman, of
Warralong Station, was shot in
the back with a 0.32in. rifle
yesterday. The rifle was acci
dentally fired by another stock
man when he was endeavouring
to remove a bullet from the
breach.
The bullet travelled through
two tin walls and a tool box
before finishing its trajectory. It
was necessary to apply resusci
tation to revive Mr. Farrell,
who received lung injuries.
In response to a call, an
Anson aircraft of the MacRob
ertson-Millet Aviation Co. Ltd.,
based on Port Hedland, picked
the man up and flew him here,
making an emergency night
landing. The flying doctor said
today that Mr. Farrell spent a
comfortable night.
