TORN OFF
Passenger Dies;
Four Injured
MELBOURNE, July 9: A
man was killed and four per
sons were injured tonight, when
a semi-trailer collided with a
passenger bus on Prince's
highway near Bunyip, 50 miles
from Melbourne.
The truck, loaded with milk
cans, sheared off the entire
right-hand side of the bus,
which carried 25 persons.
Nurses from the Warragul
Hospital were rushed in an
ambula'ice to the accident.
Ron Clancy, of Sale, was
dead when the ambulance
reached the Warragul Hospital.
The injured are: Michael All
man, of Sale-both legs frac
tured; Charles Francis Locke
(38), of Fitzroy-injured hip;
Barbara Elford (14), of Stan
hope-fractured leg; William
Roberts, of Maffra-lacerated
head and injured eye.
Other passengers received cuts
and abrasions, and most of
them suffered shock. The bus
was travelling from Melbourne
to Sale. Neither driver was
hurt.
