DRIVE AGAINST
AUSTRIAN NAZIS
Charge Of High Treason
Against Diet Members
VIENNA, June 25.
All Nazi members of the lower Diet
have been arrested on a charge of high
treason in connection with recent bomb
outrages. Little damage was caused
by most of these, but they included aa
unsuccessful effort to blow up toe larg
est gasometer in Vienna. Sulphuric
acid was also dropped in letter boxes,
and cement into tramlines.
The Nazis are painting swastikas m
red upon signposts and walls, and even
on churches.
While the German press is maintain
ing the alarmist propaganda in favor
of aerial defence, it is understood that
Austria, as the result of the leaflet
"raid" on Linz yesterday, is appealing
to the Allied signatories of the Treaty
of St. Germain, for support of the Aus
trian request for permission to use
armed defensive aircraft on the lines of
proposals which already have been sub
mitted to the Disarmament Conference.
