CAR THIEF GAOLED.
Pleading guilty to two charges of
having unlawfully assumed control
of motor cars, Laurence Whelan
(19), soldier, was sentenced to two
months' imprisonment by Mr W. J.
Wallwork, SM, in the. Perth Police
Court yesterday, the sentences to be
cumulative with the sentences he
is at present undergoing.
It was stated in evidence that on
the night of November 11 the ac
cused removed a car from Kelms
cott, the property of Mr A. S.
Forsyth, which was later found by
the police abandoned at Canning.
The next night the accused entered
a garage at Melville and stole a
car, the property of W. O. Johnston
and Sons. The car was later found
abandoned at Claremont. Sgt W. C.
Wyatt prosecuted.
