POLAND'S FUTURE.
NO QUISLING FOUND.
Russian Agreement Desired.
MELBOURNE, May 26.— German
attempts to inveigle Poland from the
side of the United Nations by their
well-known propaganda methods
would never succeed, said the Consul
General and Minister Plenipoten-
tiary for Poland (Dr S. Gruszka) yes-
terday. Dr Gruszka was commenting
on recent German propaganda at-
tempts on Poland. "Germany will
not find one quisling in Poland,"
he said, "nor the smallest group of
Poles which would support their
crazy ideas. Poland is the only
country in Europe without a quis-
ling. The problem of a compromise
between Poland and Germany has
been settled in a negative manner
for a generation at least."
Referring to the post-war period,
Dr Gruszka said that it was believed
that the most dificult problem
would be the reorganisation of cen-
tral Europe. Two of the greatest
mischief-makers in the last 25 years,
Germany and Italy, would soon be
out of the picture. Great Britain
and America had always been in fav-
our of some federal form of govern-
ment in that region, and if Great
Britain and the US assisted Poland
to find a compromise with Soviet
Russia the last obstacle would be put
aside. Conditions would then be
created for a better, stabler and
more peaceful Europe.
