Even Shades, who has been treated to

Jennacubbine Club.
The Jennacubbine Race Club will hold
a meeting on Wednesday next, and the
weights have been declared for the seven
laces on the programme. Acceptances
Will be taken at scale.

Acceptances are due at 2.30 p.m. today
for the events to be decided on the final
day of the W.A.T.C. Easter meeting on
Baturday. The main races are the
9W.A.T.C. St. Leger, of a mile and three
quarters, and the Metropolitan Handicap,
of a mile and a quarter. The Bunbury
Ptace Club is to hold its final meeting for
the season on Thursday next, April 20,
and acceptances for the six events on the
programme are due at 4 p.m. today.
English Derby.
At the call-over in London on Tuesday
bight for the English Derby, which will
be decided on May -24, Blue Peter and
Pox Cub were equal favourites at 10 to 1.
The market was as follows:-10 to 1 Blue
Peter and Fox Cub. offered, 100 to 8
Rogerstone Castle, Fairstone and Casa
nova, offered, 100 to 6 Triguero and Fox
brough, offered. 20 to 1 Dhoti, taken and
offered, 33 to 1 Fair Chance, taken and
effered.
W. Cook Suspended.
The stewards at Randwick yesterday
,sported that W. Cook, the rider of Sedu
num, winner of the Coogee Handicap,
was suspended from riding in races for
two months for careless riding in allowing
Sedunum to come in too quickly,, thus
causing interference -to Cherry Bar and
Bobby in the last half-furlong. ' Cook
only recently returned to Sydney after n
successful season in India.
Stable News.
At the annual sale of. yearlings yester
day afternoon, ~W. T. Hall; of Narembeen,
who races -Seranto and Red Idol, pur
chased a chestnut colt by Black Monk
out of Arafalt The youngster, who is a
full brother to Erminie, will be trained
at Fremantle by J. T. Lippiatt, who also
has charge of Seranto. H. A. Scott, who
purchased a bay gelding by Olympian
from Tea Lady, intends to send the geld
ing to Belmont to be broken in, and he'
will then be transferred to Fremantle.
The brown filly by Olympian out of Gothic
Lady, which was purchased by Mr. )D.
Harris, will be trained by J. W. Anderson.
Although many of the youngsters' were
not sold, a number of trainers have ar
tanged leases, and have taken over their i
new charges. Ji W. Collins, jun., has a
black flly by Agrion-Macueda: H. W.
Campbell, a black filly by Start II--'Al
legro; and J. Collinson, a -brown filly by
Peter the Hermit-Yangot. A three
gr -old brown gelding by Amalfi sut of
Royal Lass, which was passed in, has
been leased to J. H. Purvus.
