RED CROSS WORK.
Children's Concert Party.
THE Red Cross Society is forming a
children's concert party with the ob
ject of presenting a series of concerts
in and around the metropolitan area.
The proceeds will be devoted to the funds
of the Red Cross. It is hoped that parents
will co-operate and make this effort a
success by enrolling their children at an
early date. InstrumentalIsts, singers and
other entertainers can also help this
cause. A special singing teacher will be
placed on the staff and the entire produc
tion will be in the hands of Irene Lash
brooke, whose work in this direction is
well known. Further particulars may be

Murray-street
The following items have been made
by the Victoria Park branch:-1?l pairs
of socks, 18 helmets, 53 hot water bag
covers, 26 mufflers, 49 counterpanes, 25
toilet bags, 15 tray cloths, 15 dish cloths,
50 milk ug covers, 0 face washers, 15
dusters, 40 pillow slips, 30 pairs of py
jamas, 12 hospital shirts, 30 flannel shirts,
14 draw sheets, 20 handkerchiefs, 70
hospital caps and various bandages, and
a woollen splint cover. All members of
the branch V.S.D. have obtained certi
ficates and passed in gas precautions. Be
sides paying for materials used the
branch has sent £10/10/ to the Lady
Gowrie fund.
A series of community concerts to help
branches of the Red Cross at Three
Springs, Carnamah and' Moors will be
conducted by Mr. Fred Metcalf, be
ginning at the latter part of this month.
