Staff (General Sir Edmund Ironside) and
the Permanent Under-Secretary to the
Foreign Office (Sir Alexander Cadogan).

Ribes), who attended the recent League
meetings at Geneva, General Gamelin
(Commander-in-Chief of the Allied land
forces) and Admiral Darlan (chief of the
Naval Staff).
A communique issued from No. 10
Downing-Street last night stated: "In wel-
coming the British representatives M.
Daladier congratulated Great Britain on
the gallant and victorious action which
had led to the destruction of the German
warship Admiral Graf Spee. The Su-
preme War Council made a close survey
of the general situation and found that
the British and French Governments
were completely at one on all questions
discussed. The council accordingly took
such decisions as were required to make
the best use of the means of action at
the joint disposal of the two countries
in the diplomatic and military spheres."
