W.A. CAR CLUB.
Wieck Wins Hill Climb.
THE hill climb conducted by the WA.
Car Club last Sunday at Bullsbrook
proved a most successful outing. A
feature of the event was the driving
of Fred Wieck, who has recently acquired
an old 30-98 Vauxhall. Although of
considerable age and with only a four
cylinder motor, Wieck recorded the fast
est run for the day, 45sec. This was
half a second better than the time estab
lished by Ted Taylor in his Ford V8
tourer, which speaks very highly for the
performances of the Vauxhall and the
skill of the driver.
The results for the day were as fol
lows:-F. Wieck, 42 2-5 sec., 1; R. L.
Triscott, 44, 2; C. Neville, 45 3-5, 3; P.
Kerr, 46 3-5, 4; W. Denny, 47 2-5, 5;
E. Filear, 47 4-5, 6.
A gymkhana is, being held at Mecker
ing next Saturday afternoon and the
Meckering committee. has made avail
able a trophy to go to the visiting car
arriving on the grounds at the closest
to a certain predetermined time. The
time will be known only to the local
committee. It is anticipated that there
will be representatives from the WA.
Sporting Car Club as well as the W.A.
Car Club.
