the south coast, but kept so far to the south
of the continent that its influence was not

then set in over the Mount Lofty
KangeB and the coastal districts, the fall
being very heavy on parta of the ranges
(Crafers 1*720 inches and Clarendon l'HO
inches), but light elsewhere. Thi3 diatur
-ance, which is of a cyclonic natore,
lies this morning to ths south and south
east oi Tasmania, with moderately steep
rising gradients in the north-west over Bais
Straits. Squally, showery weather, with
west and south-west winds, prevails on and
sear the coast from Kangaroo Islard to
Basa Straits, and showery or threatening
weather over Victoria, south south
eastern New South Wales, and this colony
sooth of Farina. In North-Western New
Souih Wales and Southern Queensland it is
fine and generally clear, but over Northern
Queensland it is generally overcast and in
Pisces threatening rain. In New Zealand
the barometers hate a falling tendency, and
fine, clear weather is reported throughout.
