£600 IN NOTES STOLEN.
Woman Gagged in Hobart.
HOBART, Nov 19.-Three armed
and masked men stole more than
£600 in notes from the residence of
a Hobart bookmaker last night after
they had menaced his mother-in-law
with a pistol and gagged her. The'
money was the property of Albert
George Batchelor, of New Town, who
had been operating at the greyhound
racing meeting yesterday afternoon.
His mother-in-law, Mrs aElse May
Atwell, was alone with three small
children when the robbers suddenly
appeared in a room where she was
counting the money. One man seized
Mrs Atwell by the throat, gagged
and threatened here with a revolver,
While the two men ransacked the
house. The thieves hastened to a
motor car which began to move off
before they reached it. An intensivei
police search is being made.
