WEEKEND RAINS.

Light ran, but not nea?ly enough
to relieve the prevab ng water short
age, fell almost generally over the
weekend iL the central north and
central south divisions but the north
coastal agricufitral districts had
only scattered fals.
In the central north, said the
Divisional Meteorologist (Mr A G.
Akeroyd), the best registrations for
the 24 hours ended 9 am yesterday
were 19 points at Bruce Rock, 18
points at Meckering, CalingIri and
Gooialing, and 15 points at Dow
erin. In the central south the high
est figures were 22 points at Quair
ading, 21 points at Pingrup, 18
points at Wagin, 16 points at Nya
bing and 15 points at Beverley, Nar
embeen and Badgebup.
In the north coastal agricultural
districts the highest registration was
12 points at Barberton. Rain ex
tended to isolated places in the
south-east divislsn. On the central
coast the best rains were 35 points
at Chidlow, 28 points at Mundaring,
25 points at Guildford, 24 points at
Ralanmtmda and 12 points at Perth.
With half the month gone Perth
has received only 80 points of its
normal May aggregate of 503 points.
Additional rains reported to the
Weather Bureau up to 3 pm yester
day were 21 points at Kalgoorlie and
4 points at Albany and Southern
Cross.
