WOOL EXPORTS TO
U.S. FALL
Improved Figures To
Britain
CANBERRA. January 6.
Wool exports to the United
States in the five months ended
November. 1947. were less than
a quarter of the exports for the
same period in 1946, according
to official statistics released to
day.
The Federal Government ex
pects this fall in exports to be
overtaken during the current
sales.
Exports to the United King
dom for the five months ended
November were higher than in
the same period in 1946, being
301,276 bales, valued at
&M 2.560.000 to November, 1947
and 272,162 bales, valued at
£A 7,853,000 to November. 1946.
The exports to the United
States were 122,139 bales, valued
at £A 6,067,000 to November,
1947. and 506.725 bales, valueo
at EA12.567.000 to November.

Wool exports to France, Bei
fium, Sweden, and Italy also
ell, but more was sent to Swit
zerland and to Czechoslovakia
as a result of the Australian
loan to that country
