MELBOURNE. September 22.
Burberry was sold today at auction by
Mackinnon and Cox Pty., Ltd., for 2,000
guineas, on account of Mr. R. R. Thomas,
to a buyer who was acting for Capt.
T. W. Mitchell, who was taken prisoner
of war by the Japanese in Malaya. Capt.
Mitchell is owner of Tbwong Hill stud.
at Corryong, Vie, and Burberry bas been
bought for blm to take tbe place of Jobn
James, who broke a leg and had to be
destroyed at that stud on Wednesday.
