LONDON, Apr. 17 (A.AJ.).
-The British submarine Affray
is missing in the English Chan- '
nfl, according to an Admiralty
announcement which stated
that the submarine divedw at
8.15 p.m. yesterday «outh of the
Isle of Wight while on exer-
cises, and did not surface again.
The Admiralty said that every

The Affray, which belongs to the
clans oí submarine originally de-
signed tor service in the Pacific, ls
fitted with "breathing" apparatus,
which enables tile submarine to re-
main submerged for long- periods.
