CYCLING.
Club's Road Races.
With the approach of the official road
season, larger fields contested the vari
ous races conducted by metropolitan
cycling clubs on Saturday afternoon and
Sunday morning. Favourable weather
conditions resulted in good times being
recorded, and in most instances finishes
were keen. Details:-
Maylands Amateur Club.
Twelve riders contested the Maylands Ama
teur Cycling Club's ten-mile handicap at Vic
toria Park on Saturday afternoon, the scratch
men (K. Schryver, G. Baker and W. Gunn
3on) conceding 5mrin. to E. Fitzgerald and
H. Beadle on the limit. Fitzgerald punctured
after about three miles, and two miles from
home A. Gerke and H. Bishop (3.30) caught
Beadle. In the sprint Gerke came away fron
Bishop and Beadle, while Schryver, who fln
ished about half a minute later, recorded fast
est time. Result:-

The annual meeting of the club will be
held at the Amateur Sports club tonight,
'Victoria Park Amateur Club.
A keen finish marked the 20-mile senior
race of the Victoria Park Amateur Cycling
Club at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon.
The scratch men caught the leaders, and L.
McGann defeated J. Keightley and W. Robin
son (who won last week) in the final sprint
the winner also recording fastest time. Re
sult:
L. McrGann (scr.), time 51min. 2sec., 1 and
fastest; J. Kelghtley (handicap 1.0). 52.12 1-5,
2; W. Robinson (scr.). 51.12 2-5. 3.
The juntor ten-mile race resulted-.T. Green
(handicap 3min. 15sec.) time 27min. 28sec.,
1; J. Paynter (3.15), 27.28 1-5, 2; A. Jones
(3.45), 29.04-5, 3. Fastest time, V. Leith
head (scr.), 25.502-5.
Metropolitan Junior Club.
The opening race of the newly-formed Met
ropolitan Junior Cycling Club, a four-mile
handicap, was conducted at Wembley on Sun
day morning, and resulted in A. Montgomery
winming and recording fastest time from the
15sec. mark. Result:
A. Montgomery (handicap 15sec.) time.
12min. 25sec.. 1 and fastest; R. Gillies (scr.),
13.1. 2; E. Fitzgerald (0.151. 13.15, 3.
Membership is open to riders under the age
of 16 years, and those interested are invited
to a meeting to be held at 189 Rokeby-road.

City of Perth Club.
Twenty-eight riders took Dart in the City
of Perth Cycling Club's ten-mile graded scratch
race at Maylands on Saturday afternoon, most
of the sprints being keenly contested. The
race was won by R. Carter ("B" grade), wrho
won each of the four sprints in his grade, and
defeated C. M. Haupt ("A" grade) and J.
Gaomer ("B" grade). Result:

A Junior ten-mile handicap attracted 18

Ten-mile senior and Junior handicaps were
conducted by the Fremantle Amateur Cycling
Club on the Bibra Lake-road, Fremantle, on
