CAIRNS AQUATIC CLUB.

A large attendance of members' were "
present' at the general meeting held on
Wednesday night, and much business
was transacted. Several notices of mo-
tion were given to alter rules, etc.
Inward and , outward correspondence
was dealt with, including a letter to the
Western Australian Sailing Club, advis-
ing them that no boats from Cairns were <
able to make thc trip, and wishing them ]
success with their carnival. . . '
Several new lady and gentlemen mem-
bers were accepted.
Accounts amounting to £33 were pass-
ed for, payment. - t, - - f¿; I
The euchre-party and darice held l on ,'.
Thursday night Was well attended..Good
euchre1 prises ' . were given, and dainty ,,
refreshments- were supplied by .the
ladies. ' The nittsic supplied by Mri. \
Amies' Orchestra wat'bright and much
appreciated by the large crowd of dsnc- ,

members1 evening, to'take place ip the
club's' buildings on Friday night,;thc

it ' huge success. Novelty dances, cards, t
games', etc, have been arranged, add t
