BUS AND TRUCK
COLLIDE
ONE MAN KILLED
BRISBANE ACCIDENT.
BRISBANE, June 26.—One man
was killed and another critically
injured when a five-ton A.N.A.
passenger bus collided with a
utility truck at Clayfield to-day.
Robert John Hutchings (25), of
Newmarket, was killed, and Rob-
ert C. Werry (30), of Mayne
Junction, received severe bead
and body injuries. The victims
were squashed together amid
tangled steel in the cabin of the
utility truck.
The bus driver, Ronald Stock-
well (34), received cuts and
bruises to the head and shock.
At the first impact Stockwell was
flung from the bus on to is head
and the bus, out of control and
with four horrified passengers,
swept the truck 30 feet into a
heavy house fence.
Fence palings, woodwork and
steel were scattered for yards.
Nearby residents helped ambu-
lance men prize the victims from
the twisted wreckage.
