when the property changes bands
on June 2 The premises have hesn
purchased by C. B. Smith sni Co.,
who occupy mercery stores in Lake
and Abbott streets.
Mr. Cominos said yesterday that
health reasons had forced him into
"temporary retirement," but that he
did not intend to remain inactive.
He said that the day he signed over
the premises had been one of "the
hardest days of my life."
He had owned the premises since
1906, and had lived in Cairns since
then, except for a five-year visit to
his homeland, Greece, in 1920-25.
