RIVER DISTRICT INTELLIGENCE,
The Barling at Wentworth on September 21
was at a standstill, being 21 feet 7 inches above
low water. The Wilcamaa Timm of Beptember
17 renorted :— 'Durinc tha waak tha river has
fallen at the rat* of about six inches daily, and
is sow about 13 feet 10 inches above summer
leveL'
The Central Aujtralia* on September 12 said :
—'The stream at Bourke has fallen this week
3 feet 3 inches. It now stands 15 fast 3 inches
above low water or summer level, and shows a
slight indication of another rise, as it ha« not
fafieu anything within tbe last few days, At
Walcett the Hamoi is 17 feet high and rising.
At Brewarrina the river is falling slowly. The
Mumunbidgee at Hay was on September 9
23 feet 3 inches above tha summer level.'
Three hundred head of UOB cattle from
above Backambee have been sold to Dma,
Lanchton. Ac Co.. of Adelaide.
