THE HABIT OF -HEALTH.
If we think of Soap as a means of cleanli
ness only, even then PEAR'S SOAP is a
matter of course. It is the only soap that

fat nor free alkali in it. But what does

A tablespoonful of powdered alum
sprinkled into a hogshead of water will so
purify it that after a few hours it will be
found to possess nearly all the clearness and
freshness of the finest spring water, the im

lardens and petrifies tle sand of its bed,
and if a stone falls in the stream, and alights
upon another, in a few months they unite
