Sin,-I think before " Sabbath Observ
ance" took Mr. Back, the courteous
manager of the Tasmanian Government
Railways to task for running an excqrsion
train on a Sunday, that he ought to have
had a mind to those who from the nature
of their occupation, or length of purse, are
not able to go and see their friends who
live at a distance on a week day, and are
therefore obliged to avail themselves of
such an opportunity as was ot?ered last'
Sunday. I wonder whact Sabbath Oh
servauno" would tlinjk if he were to live at
Molbosirno whore they run trains every
f?t~ae minutes from Flinders-street station
to Sandridgo, thie railway pier, of which
place is a favourite promenade on a Sunday
afternoon. Some people migliht aver that
it is unfair to rob the railway employes
of their Sunday's'rest, but we may be
sure that nothing goes out of their pocket
by the transaction. Sunday is undeniably
a day set apart for.rest and worship and
a ccssation from work, as also it is for
harmless recreation in moderation. Yours,
etc., LIVE AND LET LIVE.
