H.F.W, in Adelaide.
TLTR. H. F. Wilkinson, who went to
South Australia to do the handicap-
ping for the S.A.J.C. and A.It.C., will
shortly be back in Perth before leaving
for Singapore. Although his tenure or
office in Adelaide was short. Fred, formed
many friendships, and perhaps none so
much as among thc leading cricketers of
South Australia. Of course, he had a host
of friends among the racing fraternity, but
outside that 6phere he was perhaps more
closely associated with the cricketers than
any other body. He travelled frequently
on Sundays with a happy band of cricket-
ers known as the Harlequins, which in-
cluded some of our interstate representa-
tives. The matches were against leading
colleges and another band known as the
Nizzas, which also claimed interstate play-
er as members. Mr. Wilkinson will be
missed and he was farewelled by the com-
mittee of the Gawler Jockey Club on Sat-
urday afternoon.
