Member of Council for the
Vasse.
To the Editor of the Inquirer.
SIR,-My name appearing in a letter
signed " J. G. Bussell," published
inyour issue of this day, as regards cer-
tain statements made by speakers at the
meeting to which that gentleman alludes,
I have merely to state that the requisi-
tion sent to me was the voluntary act of
many old and respectable settlers in the
district, who, I have little doubt, will
come forward and publicly contradict the
unfounded assertion that the signatures
affixed thereto were false.
I am, Sir,
Tour obedient servant,
EOBT. KING.
Fremantle, 19th Oct. 1870.
To the Editor of the P. G. & W. A. Times.
SIB,-We, the undersigned voters of
the Vasse District, hereby request
that you will permit us to state publicly
that our signatures to the requisition in-
viting Mr. E. King to eome forward as

untarily given, and that we shall en-
deavor to support him in every possible
way.
The statement made at a late meeting
held at Busselton, that the signatures to
the requisition referred to were not gen-
uine! is a base falsehood.
