Eliminating Ballot Likely
To Be Necessary
SYDNEY, March 13.
A further meeting of the House of
Bishops of the Church of England in
Australia was held tonight, but it ad-<*>
journed without having elected the new
Pnmate. No Metropolitan received
an absolute majority of votes.
Under the constitution of the Church
of England only one ballot ?reuld b".
taken tonight and the meeting had to
to adjourned until tomorrow. Should

tans, there will bs a process of elimina
tion until two Metropolitans rem.iin
The fina] vote will be between them
and should the voting then In fouii.l
to ">e equal, the Bishoo of Adelaide
(Dr. Thomas), as chairman of thn
Bench of Bishops, will have a c.-vstin?

elected.
It is expected that the final vote will
be between the Metropolitans of Svo
ney and Melbourne.
