from one John Farrell, a boatman. It appeared
that Anderson lodged with Farrell, and on Monday
morning, about 5 o'clock, Fam-ll heard him run
ning out of the honse. He strove to catch him,'
but could not ; and on looking to the pocket of
his jacket, where the money had been left, he
missed it. He was afterwards taken in Cole's
public-house, and the sovereign and part of the
other money was found on him. Farrell toli
him if he would pay him back the money he
would not prosecute; but after he had obtained
his advance note, and did not come to pay, he
had a warrant taken out for him. The magistrate
represented to the prosecutor, that he had laid
himself open to a charge of compounding a
felony, and was, in consequence, obliged to dis
charge the defendant.
