METEOROLOGICAL NOTES.
9 a.m., Monday, March 26.
West Australia-On west coast fine but
generally cloudy, light and variable winds;
fine generally in south except at Esperance
Bay, where it is threatening, light east to
north-east winds. The high pressure whioh on
Saturday overlapped toe southern districts hao
H'ovtd rapidly eastward, and it* place is
occupied by another low barometer area. South
Australia— Fine, cool, and generally cloudy
on and near toe south coast, inland mostly
cltar and in parts warm; light winds chiefly
from south meat to south ea*t. The rain thai
tell yesterday was very light and scattered in
the south, but over the agricultural areas to
the north it was fahly heavy, in places over an
inch, and Karridy l'£7o. Victoria.—Fine but
generally cloudy, in parts thieatening. Light

Wales.—Generally fine and clear, but cloudy
in extreme south-east and west parts,
fofgy at few places on coast; light and variable
wii.de and calm. Queensland. —Generally fine
and clear to fine, but cloudy except at fear
places on Peninsula, where rain has fallen,

east to east winds. General Remarks.—The
high pttsfure bai moved very rapidly eastward
since Saturday morning, and now lies to the
stnth of the continent west of Kucla, with
it* highest tegion to the south of this colony
and western Victoria, 'causing finer weather
this troming, and is followed as mentioned
above by a low pleasure system with apparently
rather fcteep gradients between the two areas.
