Bradman Works
Into Form
At Kensington
In an unusual match from the scor-
ing point of view, Adelaide defeated
Kensington by .33 runs on the first in-
nings in the match at Kensington Oval
on Saturday.
The match was remarkable from the scor-
ing point of view, for in each innings there
was an unaccountable collapse after the first
three or four men had gone, with one man
making a stand while wickets fell at the
other end.
On Saturday it was Bradman. While never
spectacular, the Kensington captain scored
rapidly—his first and second 50 both taking
47 minutes, while his 116 not out took 123
minutes. The feature of the innings was the
number of singles and the running between
the wickets was an education to spectators
and players. More than one of the runs was
risky, but fumbling by the fieldsman made
them safe. Bradman only gave one chance
in his innings, an easy one of stumping at
44.
Adelaide passed Kensington's score with six
wickets in hand, and then almost lmmediatelv
Grimmett struck a "purple" patch, and took
three wickets without addition to the score.
The Adelaide batsmen were scratching for
runs at the conclusion of their lnninis. after
they had looked like making a big score.
Kensington did no better In its second in
nings, p. G. Inglis. Bradman and Movie took
the score to three for 137. and then the next
six wickets fell tor 32 runs. Scores:—
