FOOTBALL
PORT TRAINER DIES
Mr. Joseph Silver, 54, waterside worker.
and a prominent trainer of the Port Ade-
laide Football Club, died suddenly while
working on the wharf at the Outer Har-
bor yesterday morning. He had just
supervised the landing of a sling of lead,
from the small Inter-State steamer Kapara
on to the wharf when he collapsed. For
many years he was a supporter of the
Port Adelaide Football Club, and was a
trainer for more than 20 years. In his
younger days he was a prominent player
in junior teams in the seaport district.
He leaves a widow and six children.
