JOCKEYS, UNABLE TO
SWIM, RESCUED
Canoe Capsizes Near
Glenelg Jetty
Reginald Fuller and Kevin Mc-
Mahon, crosscountry jockeys, were
rescued yesterday afternoon after a
Canoe had capsized about 150 feet west
of the Glenelg jetty. Neither could
swim.
The two men had hired a canoe, in
which they intended to trail for snook
off the shore between Broadway and
the Glenelg jetty. When 150 ft. from
the jetty McMahon lost one of the
paddles, and Fuller, in attempting to
recover it, capsized the frail craft.
Their cries for help were heard by
those on the jetty. Two men in
bathers at once jumped into the water,
swam to the men, and took them to
the jetty ramp.
