JOURDIE HILLS.
Aug. 5.
A team of Kurrawang footballers
will visit Jourdie hills on Sunday
next and play a match in the morn
ing against a team from the Car
bine, and another against a com
bined team selected from players of
Kunanalling and Jourdie Hills in
the afternoon. The secretary of the
Kurrawang Club hopes that a suffi
cient number of members of his
club will make the trip, so that.the
two matches may be played. It is
hoped .that the Carbine team will
put in an aippearance, and not dig
appoint the Kurrawa.ng players.
Jourdie Hills end Kunanalling will
no doubt. have a formidable colr
bination. Vehicles will, meet the
Kurrawang players. - The Jourdie
Hills Cricket Ground will he the
scene of the matches, and if. is
looking fresh- and green, the grass
growing profuscly all over it.
Hunting game is a pastime in
dulged in by- a few of the residenl:s
here. Early this week a. party se4
out turkey hunting, and one indi
vidual amongst them brought down'
a turkey with a rifle at a distance of
over 400 yards. The bird turned the
scale at 17 lb. , This shot is a most
excellent one, and the marksman is
a shootist of considerable repute.
