SOLDIERS' PENSIONS.
Provision for Appeals.
. CANBERRA. Dec. 9.— Notice of a Bill
to amend the Repatriation Act was given
to-day in' the House of Representatives
by the Minister for Repatriation (Mr.
Anstey).. Returned soldiers whose war in
juries are admitted, but who have been
refused a pension, will be entitled to
appeal to the Appeals Board if the
amendment is agreed to. At present ? ap
peals can be made only in respect to
increases claimed on pensions already
granted, and' if a soldier has an injury
which theibbard considers does not merit
a -.pension' ^ho can take the /matter' no
furtb/er.^ Sir: Anstey said to-day that Le
considered- this an absurd anomaly which
which -'should b'e remedied.
