COLLIE HOTEL EMPLOYEES.
The State Arbitration Court yesterday
heard an application by J. Carrigg, R.
F. Gray, G. Connell, A. Carthy, F. W.
Rees, and E. M. Oswald for an industrial
agreement made this year to be declared
a common rule. The respondent was the
Hotel, Club, Caterers', Tearoom and Re-
staurant Employees' Union. Mr. G. F.
Gill who appeared in support of the
application, which was not opposed, ex-
plained to the Bench that the agreement
resulted from a strike which occurred at
Collie some time ago. It was proposed
that the agreement should operate over
a radius of 10 miles from the central
post office. Collie, and it would have effect
to a working week of 48 hours under
certain conditions. All hotel proprietors
of Collie had signed the agreement.
The application was granted.
