LOCAL BUREAU'S REPORT.
-Although rain occurred throughout the
Kimberleys during the week-end, the in
dividual amounts reported to the Weather
Bureau were less than ten nointe. exceDt
at Wyndham (32 points) and Fitzroy
(10). Falls occurred also at places on
the««outh coast and the northern gold
fields and in the Pilbara; but here again
totals for the 48. hours amounted to only
a few points. Cloudy conditions prevailed
over the South- West and southern areas
of the State at 8 aon. yesterday, and
also at Perth, where a pleasant day was
experienced. The temperature in the
metropolitan area rose from a minimum
of 6l.5deg. at no ajn., to a maximum
of 81.4deg. at 2.45 pjn. During the
afternoon, reports showed that the cool
ing south-easterly winds blowing off the
high in the Bight were responsible for
pleasant weather throughout the wheat
belt and Coolgardie goldfields; but further
north the stations were coming under
the influence of the tropical low, and
much higher temperatures were recorded,
reaching lOOdeg. at Meekatharra, 107 at
Roebourne, Onslow and Nullagine, and
110 at Marble Bar. Barometer readings
received from out-stations during the
day. suggested that temperatures would
rise on, the coast but would remain plea
sant over the Coolgardie goldfields.
