BADMINTON.
'B' Grade Tournament
At a meeting of the council of the Badminton
Association of W.A. at Victoria House, Perth, last
Dignt it was decided to hold the annual associa
tion tournament own to 'B' irrade niavers. Plav
will continue practically every night until the
final stages are reached. The finals will be con
tested on October 5. This tournament affords a
tine opportunity for young players to obtain
practice under tournament conditions. Club
secretaries are asked to co-operate with the tourna
ment committee in securing entries. Entry
forms will be available at an early date and
entries will close on September 24. A range of
five championship events will be contested and
the entry fee will be 2/6 per event.
The application from The Northam Associa
tion for sanction to conduct their fourth annual
championships was granted. The tournament
will be played in Northam next Thursday, Fri
day and Saturday, and entries will close on Tues
day next. 'An invitation is extended to metro
politan players to compete.
Pennant Series.
The 'B' and 'C' Grade divisions of the
association's pennant series have been finalised,
Guildford having gained an overwhelming victory
in the former grade, while East .Fremantle and
City No. 1, having nroved equal on points, will
meet again to decide the destination of the 'C'
Grade pennant. The 'A' Grade division will not
be completed until October 8.
