RIFLE SHOOTING.
Club Competitions.
At Swanbourne rifle range on Saturday
metropolitan riflemen held their weekly
club competitions. With the exception of
the Perth Club, which was at 700 vards.
all the clubs used the 300 yards range.
Many country riflemen who have come
to Perth for the King's prize meeting
were present. A strong four o'clock wind,
together with many showers of rain, made
shooting conditions far from pleasant and
good scores were hard to obtain. At 700
yards the best score off the rifle was 63
by R. B. Ryle. At the shorter range A.
Harris (East Perth) again demonstrated
his skill by securing a splendid 69 in hard
conditions. This score was two points
better than that of any other rifleman
at this range. At present Harris is in top
form and should be prominent in the
struggle for the King's prize. Seven-shot
possibles were recorded by E. Shaw (East
Perth) and F. Wren (Leederville).
