MKLBOUBNE, Feb. 22.
The Hon W. F. Waiker M.L.A. Commis-
sioner of 'Trade and Customs, has resigned
his post in tho Ministry.
The schedule of -Pierro .Noel Lacatón,
restaurant keeper, bas been tiled. The
liabilities are 'stated at ¿¿12,468, and the
assets 28,794. The cause of insolvency is
&tated as being lossos in doalings in real
estate.
MELBOURNE, Feb. 25.
The prisoner Harrison has been sentenced
to death for the murder of John Duggau, at
Elmore.
A railway accident took place at Colling-
wood on Sunday afternoon through an eugine
running on the wrong line into a train'con-
taining forty passengers. With two excep-
tions, none of these were seriously injured.
In the firdt-class carriage at the end of the
train, only one passenger was injured.

The Exhibition will be closed to the. public

The Radical party are preparing an attrac-
tive programme. The general lines on which
the committee are in aocord, are the main-
tenance of the Education Act, tho abolition
of plural voting, the reform of Parliamentary
procedure, the extension of the local option
principle, the now railway bill, and assistance
to the agricultural community.
The Railway Commissioners have instruct-
ed the locomotive engineer to construct a
sleeping and dining railway car for use on thc
intercolonial railway.
MELBOCBNE, February 27.
Next week, the Premier, Mr Gillies, will ;
publish his address to bia constituents, con-
taining an exposition of the Government's
polioy. The proposals will inolude the
appropriation of 2250,000 in aid of the
development of the agricultural industry; the
maintenance of the Educational Act, exten-
sion of irrigation works by liberal State
assistance, and a pledge, will be given for the
revision of the tariff.
Both the Liberal and Radical supporters
haye met and adopted manifestoes.
